Pal is an extra-dimensional child who fled his hometown alongside his best friend after invaders took control. He can materialize and manipulate anything he imagines, though he spent years believing the ability would kill him if he ever used it.
When 009 and the team take Pal under their wing, they train him and his companion to fight back against the occupiers. The kids prove capable students, and together they manage to drive the invaders out. But the victory leaves 003 deeply unsettled—she watches Pal and the others grow hardened by combat, their innocence replaced by the willingness to hurt. It troubles her in ways the rest of the group don't quite share.
