Katai Tayama works as an information broker for the Armed Detective Agency, though he used to be an active member before transitioning to his current role. He's known Doppo Kunikida for about a decade.
He's basically a homebody—genuinely prefers being wrapped up in his futon to pretty much anything else, and he's not shy about it. Hot springs and youkan are his idea of luxury. He's also got a specific type: black-haired girls, which fans often note whenever Nadeshiko Gin Akutagawa comes up. Socializing drains him, and he can't stand anything twisted or convoluted.
His ability, called Futon, is genuinely useful for his work.
