A dog lover with two pets named Ivy and Momo, he's the kind of guy who enjoys cooking and gaming in his downtime. His go-to foods are curry and Pino ice cream. He can speak Kansai dialect fluently and trained in Aikido. He's got a younger brother, Masaki, and an older sister, Shizuka.
After leaving Artvision in 2012, he founded his own talent agency, Intention.
Best known in the industry for his work with STA☆MEN, a seven-member seiyuu group that includes Junichi Suwabe, Daisuke Kishio, Hiroki Takahashi, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Makoto Yasumura, and Kousuke Toriumi. The group notably performed the ending theme for the Super Sentai tokusatsu drama "Go Busters," which became their third single. He's also part of CONNECT, the first unit under Kiramune music label alongside Mitsuo Iwata, and together they've released three mini-albums and a single.
As a solo artist, he's released 10 singles, two albums, and one mini-album.
Married to fellow voice actress Maaya Sakamoto on August 8, 2011.
In May 2024, he announced a temporary hiatus for health reasons but returned to activities on July 31 that same year.
