Ryousuke Kira is a forward for Matsukaze Kokuō High School who got selected for the Blue Lock Project alongside Yoichi Isagi. He's got white hair, brown eyes, and is tall and muscular—the kind of guy people would describe as conventionally attractive.
On the surface, Kira comes across as genuinely kind and a true believer in team soccer. He's so committed to the idea that he directly opposed Jinpachi Ego's core philosophy about egoism in football, which honestly clouds his judgment. He'd rather support his teammates during nationals than chase becoming the world's best striker, and he was so convinced Ego was wrong about Japanese football's weakness that he entered Blue Lock specifically to prove it. The irony is he cared more about winning that argument than actually winning.
The thing is, Kira can't seem to accept reality. Ego spelled out some solid points—comparing Japan's players to historical greats, pointing out Japan's complete World Cup drought—but Kira was in denial about all of it.
That idealism has a dark side though. After getting eliminated in the Admission Exam, he completely snapped. He went off ranting about how he's the most skilled player despite literally losing, while blaming guys like Isagi and Meguru Bachira for his own failure. It exposed how genuinely incapable he is of acknowledging his own weaknesses. His career ended almost before it started, and he couldn't handle it.
