It's 1983, and Earth is under siege by alien invaders called BETA. Humanity's fighting back with giant combat suits called Tactical Surface Fighters, but they're losing ground fast—the aliens keep pushing closer to what's left of civilization. Schwarzesmarken follows Second Lieutenant Theodor Eberbach and his unit, the 666th TSF squadron, stationed in East Germany. They're the kind of soldiers who get the job done no matter the cost in lives. Under the command of Captain Irisdina Bernhard, a decorated war hero, they specialize in taking down one of the deadliest BETA classes: the laser variants. Things get complicated when Katia Waldheim, an enthusiastic new recruit, joins the squadron. Her presence catches the eye of the Stasi—East Germany's secret police—and suddenly the 666th has problems beyond just fighting aliens. Now they're dealing with their own government as a threat too.
