Gintama
Edo used to be the heart of samurai culture, but everything changed when aliens called the Amanto showed up and took over. The shogunate got turned into a puppet government, and the new regime banned swords in public. It was basically the end of an era. Then there's Gintoki Sakata, this weird silver-haired guy who refuses to let the ban kill the samurai spirit. He still carries a wooden sword and runs Yorozuya, a freelance odd-jobs outfit with his crew. They take on pretty much anything if the pay is decent—which usually means things get messy. His team's made up of Shinpachi, a nerdy kid who wants to learn the samurai way despite the circumstances; Kagura, a girl with crazy strength and an even crazier appetite; and Sadaharu, their massive dog who's got an unsettling habit of headbutting people. Together, the Yorozuya crew gets tangled up in all kinds of situations around Edo—whether it's dealing with alien nobility, street gangs, or whatever else comes their way.
