Synopsis

It's 1923 in Tokyo, and vampires are becoming a serious problem. An illegal drug called Ascra—basically synthetic blood—is flooding the black market, and the vampire population is exploding as a result. The military brass, specifically Lieutenant General Sounosuke Nakajima, decides to fight fire with fire. They round up vampires already in their ranks and form a secret unit called Code Zero, with the goal of hunting down both the source of Ascra and the vampires themselves. Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda runs the operation, which puts him in a tight spot. He's got to produce real results or the whole unit gets shut down, all while the public and higher-ups are breathing down his neck. That's not even the worst part though—the vampire soldiers in Code Zero are barely holding it together. They're new to being monsters, their powers are still unstable, and their humanity is slipping away. If the unit doesn't get the vampire crisis under control soon, they might end up being the real threat to the city.
