Synopsis

Death City hosts Shibusen, the Death Weapon Meister Academy, run by the Shinigami himself—Lord Death. The school trains students to become Death Scythes, powerful weapons the Shinigami can use against evil. Here's the catch: Death Scythes aren't actual weapons. They're humans with the rare ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons. To qualify, they need to consume 99 evil souls and one witch's soul. Soul Eater Evans is a Demon Scythe who's obsessed with being cool. He's partnered with Maka Albarn, a no-nonsense meister determined to help him reach Death Scythe status. They're not alone—Black☆Star, a hot-headed fighter, works with Tsubaki, his weapon and the group's compassionate heart. Then there's Death the Kid, the Shinigami's son, who wields twin pistols named Patty and Liz and struggles with obsessive-compulsive tendencies. As these students take on missions to collect souls and keep Death City safe, they grow stronger together—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
