Souta is a 16-year-old high schooler who got roped into working at Wagnaria, a family restaurant, after Popura convinced him to join the staff. He's got a thing for cute stuff, which means he's basically always fawning over Popura—much to the annoyance of literally everyone else. He tends to say whatever's on his mind without much of a filter, which gets him in trouble constantly; his coworkers aren't shy about dishing out punishment when he crosses a line.
The restaurant and its crew strike him as weird in pretty much every way, but he's stuck around anyway. He adapts to new tasks pretty easily, at least, which helps. He's got three older sisters who made his childhood miserable—they dressed him up in their hand-me-downs, which basically meant he looked like a little girl for years. That experience left him with a deep-seated dislike of older women. If that wasn't enough, his younger sister is in elementary school and is already almost as tall as he is, which says something.
Despite all his quirks and complaints, there's one curve ball nobody sees coming: Inami occasionally asks him to cross-dress and go by "Kotori" whenever her father stops by the restaurant. Yeah, really.
