Thalassa Lucas

Thalassa Lucas is the King of Ilusia. He's best known for his brief appearance during Chopper's flashback in chapter 142, where he shows up as the bearded, smoking guy at the Council of Kings meeting in Mariejois—six years before the main story. During that conversation, he warns the other kings that Dragon's ideology poses a serious threat, predicting he'll become a major problem for the World Government within the next six years.
Since he only appears in that one flashback, fans have no idea whether he's still alive or still ruling Ilusia in the present day.
The name Thalassa comes from Greek mythology—it's the name of a sea goddess who personified the Mediterranean Sea. The connection to the character's identity or role, if any, remains unclear.
