Princess Shirahoshi is a giant smelt-whiting mermaid—the youngest of King Neptune's children—and widely known as the "Mermaid Princess." She first showed up in the story through Pappug, who claimed to know her personally and promised to hook up the Straw Hat Pirates with an introduction once they hit Fishman Island. Turns out he was totally making that up.
