Nero, nicknamed "the Sea Weasel," was CP9's newest recruit. He first appeared on the Puffing Tom, where he was tasked with escorting Nico Robin to Enies Lobby. As a fresh member of the organization, Nero only mastered four of the six Rokushiki techniques—specifically Soru, Geppou, Kami-e, and Rankyaku. He lacked proficiency in Tekkai and Shigan, so he carried guns to compensate for the missing Shigan and relied on evasion rather than Tekkai's defensive properties.
During the rescue attempt, Nero tried blocking Franky but got punched straight through the Puffing Tom's roof and into CP9's main chamber. He continued to engage Franky and made threats, but Lucci shut that down quickly—their orders were to capture, not kill. Lucci then gave Nero three seconds to leave before taking him out with five rapid Shigan strikes. That was essentially the end of Nero's CP9 career; Lucci personally disbanded him on the spot.
Whether Nero survived is unclear. Lucci's known for being ruthless and lethal, and Nero's unconscious body was swept into the ocean during the Aqua Laguna—one of the world's most violent storms. His fate remains a mystery.
