Fern is Heiter's adopted daughter who became Frieren's ward after his death. She's grown into someone surprisingly mature for her age—almost unnaturally so—and basically functions as the group's caretaker. She's the one making sure Frieren actually gets out of bed in the morning, handles cooking, and keeps everyone on track.
Her dynamic with Stark is pretty funny; despite being around the same age, she treats him like he's a kid who can't manage himself, constantly nagging him about staying up too late. She comes across as stern and composed most of the time, but that facade cracks pretty easily if someone gets on her bad side—then she'll pout or snap back like the teenager she actually is. It's one of her more endearing qualities, honestly.
