Sonata Amamiya
A legendary Prism Star, Sonata's best known for performing the Aurora Rising—though she later became convinced the jump she'd executed wasn't the real thing. Obsessed with finding its true form, she walked out on her family about twelve years before the events of Aurora Dream, leaving behind her husband Ryutaro and their daughter Rizumu.
During her years training in Russia, Sonata took Kaname Chris under her wing, eventually adopting her as a daughter. She groomed Chris specifically to master what she believed was the authentic Aurora Rising.
The name shift from Kanzaki to Amamiya reflects her marriage to Ryutaro, though that union didn't last given her single-minded pursuit of the jump's deeper meaning.
