Aiha has served as Bishamon's Shinki for five decades, making her one of the god's longest-serving spirits. She started out as Bishamon's primary divine clothing—essentially functioning as the god's outfit—but eventually got demoted when Bishamon kept tripping over her skirt. Tsuguha took over the role, which was probably a practical decision if nothing else.
The real turning point in Aiha's story came when she joined Bishamon on a dangerous mission to Yomi to retrieve Yato. During that battle, Aiha took serious damage to her legs. She spent a considerable stretch of time afterwards stuck in a wheelchair, which speaks to just how brutal that particular journey was.
