Raditz is Goku's older brother and Bardock's eldest son. He showed up on Earth as part of a Saiyan invasion plan, hoping to recruit his younger brother to help conquer planets. But he was pretty disappointed when he found out Goku had amnesia and had basically gone native on Earth—so instead of convincing him, Raditz took Gohan hostage and tried to force Goku into compliance that way.
