A crow tengu who's been watching over Fuchigamori for centuries. He's the mountain's guardian, keeping the town safe from supernatural threats and offering spiritual guidance to locals who need it. Best known for his laid-back attitude and casual way of speaking—pretty much the opposite of what you'd expect from someone in his position. He collects weird t-shirts and kills time playing video games on his phone, which gives you a sense of how he approaches things.
On the surface he comes across as cheerful and easygoing, but there's real weight underneath. He carries trauma from World War 2, specifically the death of Mutsumi's great-grandmother, something that still haunts him. His apologetic, self-sacrificing nature can actually annoy Mutsumi, who'd probably prefer if he'd be a bit more direct about things. Still, his protective instincts run deep—the job of keeping Fuchigamori safe is something he takes seriously, even if he doesn't always look like it.
