Pei Xiu serves as a Heavenly Official in the Middle Court and works under higher command. He first shows up in the early parts of the story as a composed, no-nonsense guy who takes his duties as a Martial God seriously. He doesn't come across as particularly emotional at first, but as things progress, his stiff exterior cracks—especially after Xie Lian's cooking leaves him poisoned. That's when his goofier side really comes through. Despite being barely able to talk through the food poisoning, he's stubborn enough to insist on fighting anyway, which says something about his determination.
He has genuine respect and admiration for Pei Ming, and he's friendly with both Ban Yue and Xie Lian, even after the whole poisoning incident.
