Lu Shu is the main character of Spare Me, Great Lord! His parents abandoned him when he was young, leaving behind only a walnut-shaped pendant as a connection to his past. That pendant turns out to be way more important than it seems—when he gets hit by a car, it saves his life and somehow triggers a distress point system that becomes central to everything he does going forward.
The story picks up as Lu Shu starts working for the Heavenly Network, which is basically his entry point into a much larger, stranger world. As he takes on jobs and missions through them, he gradually pieces together who he really is and what he's capable of. The distress point mechanic he gained becomes his main tool for getting stronger and navigating the supernatural stuff he keeps running into.
