Jousuke is the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4, introduced as a freshman in the town of Morioh when Joutarou tracks him down with some unexpected news—Jousuke is the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar, Joutarou's grandfather.
At first glance, he's your typical likable teenager: popular, well-meaning, and inspired by his police officer grandfather's sense of justice. When Joutarou asks him to help deal with dangerous Stand users plaguing Morioh, though, Jousuke isn't interested. It's not his problem. That changes fast after his grandfather is killed by a Stand user, pushing Jousuke to take up the fight in his memory—a vow that echoes Spider-Man's famous promise.
His personality is pretty straightforward: polite and friendly to everyone, using proper titles like "Mister" and "Miss," until you hit his one major sore spot. Insult his hair and he'll lose it spectacularly. Growing up with just his mother and never knowing Joseph, Jousuke developed a bit of a crafty, money-conscious streak, but he's genuinely dependable and quick to protect people who need it.
Jousuke's Stand, Crazy Diamond, is a close-range restoration ability—it can repair or heal almost anything by returning it to a previous state. The catch is it doesn't work on him personally, can't revive the dead, and can't cure illness. It's surprisingly versatile though: he can restore broken objects into their raw materials, trap enemies by reforming pieces around them, or even track people by restoring torn fabric so it seeks out what it came from. When Jousuke gets angry, the Stand's restoration tends to go haywire, reassembling things wrong on purpose. The name's a nod to Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond."
