Yashi-Otoshi, whose name literally means "Palm Tree Dropper," is a plant youkai who shows up as one of Kitarou's recurring antagonists. He's best known for teaming up with a couple of other youkai named Akamata and Chinpo—the three of them make up what's called the Youkai Army. He first appeared in a Shonen Magazine story that shared his name.
