Ayame Momochi
Ayame is a kunoichi who used to be a man. She underwent a rare and risky ninja transformation technique that rewired her body from male to female, though she still occasionally slips into old speech patterns and mannerisms. She's a mid-level ninja from the same hidden village as Shizuri Ideura and Tsukasa Atsumi—and her complicated feelings for Shizuri drive most of her decisions, for better or worse.
Appearance
She's got long hair and favors purple suits with sleeveless knit tops. Her feminine appearance is polished and confident, though internally she's still working through a lot. She hated her old body and committed to living as a woman, but those lingering traces of who she used to be sometimes show through.
Personality
Ayame's a bundle of contradictions. In a fight, she's cool and collected. Outside of combat, though? Her obsessive feelings for Shizuri make her impulsive, jealous, and unpredictable. She's got a masochistic streak that's hard to miss—she genuinely enjoys pain and will push her body past normal limits because of it. This makes her dangerous in her own way: she'll take risks others won't.
She also has a real disdain for men, which ties back to her past. She's trying to live authentically as a woman, but that desire sometimes clashes with her other loyalties and drives.
Background
She was born male in a hidden ninja village and underwent the body transformation technique to become female. It's an advanced, secretive art with a major drawback: if her body gets damaged badly enough, the transformation can collapse and revert her back. This constant threat hangs over everything she does.
Abilities
Ayame's solid at stealth, agility, and hand-to-hand combat. The body transformation is her signature technique, but it's also her vulnerability. Her masochism actually works in her favor during fights—pain doesn't slow her down the way it would others, and she'll push herself to inhuman extremes. She's unpredictable in combat, which keeps opponents off-balance.
Relationships
Shizuri is basically her entire emotional world. What started as admiration turned into obsessive love, and Ayame struggles to separate professional respect from personal need. She's jealous, impulsive around Shizuri, and once nearly attacked Tsukasa out of misunderstanding. She even moved in next door to them, constantly keeping watch.
With Tsukasa, things are rocky. Ayame prods her deliberately, partly to get a rise out of her and partly because she's looking for Shizuri's attention. The dynamic between all three is tense and messy.
Trivia
When Shizuri went through a drastic change, Ayame was devastated enough to almost attack Tsukasa in a fit of jealousy—but the moment Shizuri's killing intent flooded the air, Ayame felt joy instead.
During a demon fight, she took hits and literally expressed pleasure from the pain. She beat the demon easily while basically enjoying getting beaten.
She once broke Tsukasa's magical charm during a demon encounter, accidentally releasing the creature. She seemed thrilled about the chaos rather than concerned.
Ayame's the kind of character who keeps things interesting. She's caught between loyalty and obsession, between who she was and who she's chosen to be. Her unpredictability and emotional intensity make her one of the most compelling—and exhausting—people in her village.
