Luchist is one of the most formidable shamans fighting under Hao, best known as the founder and former leader of the X-laws. He serves as Marco's primary rival, though their connection runs deeper than that—apparently they were close friends in past lives, both working as car dealers before Hao's intervention upended everything. The anime skips this backstory entirely, but it's central to the manga.
In the manga, Luchist's major moments come after X-III's death, when he tails Yoh to the X-laws' base hoping to re-enter the Shaman Fight, which he'd given up as the price for reviving Ren. When Yoh squares off against Marco and X-II, Luchist jumps in on Hao's side and makes quick work of X-II. He nearly overwhelms Marco until Lyserg and Yoh (backed by Jeanne) show up and destroy his Oversoul, knocking him out cold. His final appearance comes on the Mu continent, where he blocks the group from advancing. He and Marco both fall in the subsequent battle—something Lyserg hints at when he mentions plans to bring Luchist back afterward.
Spirit: Lucifer, a "fallen angel" with the standard archangel abilities—most notably the power to shatter souls and move at speeds the eye can't track. Maintaining this spirit apparently drains a lot of Furyoku; he passed out the moment his Oversoul broke.
