Seiyu: Tomoko KawakamiFuyuki's defining quality is how he compensates for his lack of physical stamina with genuine kindness and an almost superhuman ability to forgive. He's basically the opposite of his sister Natsumi in every way—where she's loud, quick to anger, and athletic, Fuyuki is calm, reserved, and actively avoids physical confrontation. That said, fans note he does have a breaking point; when he actually gets angry, it's intense enough to genuinely scare even Natsumi. Their names even mirror each other: his means "winter tree" (associated with blue), while hers means "summer beauty" (associated with red).
Fuyuki's biggest passion is the paranormal and science fiction. Weirdly, he constantly runs into the bizarre creatures he obsesses over—usually in dramatic fashion during episodes centered on him. He looks like your standard Japanese schoolboy: average build, dark violet eyes, normal features.
His most important relationship is with Keroro, the alien sergeant he's somehow befriended despite knowing full well Keroro's supposed to be conquering Earth. Fuyuki calls him "gunso" and they genuinely spend time together, though he's not above hitting Keroro with his go-to guilt trip: "Aren't we friends?!" It's surprisingly effective. He also makes it his business to stop Keroro whenever an invasion scheme threatens actual planetary destruction—partly because Earth's annihilation would also destroy all the Gundam model factories, Keroro's other obsession.
Then there's Alisa Southerncross, who constantly uses Fuyuki as alien bait to help her gain humanity (long story). Most people would hate that arrangement, but Fuyuki just. forgives her. He always does.
His patience with the chaos doesn't go unnoticed by Momoka Nishizawa, his wealthy classmate who's pretty openly in love with him. Her attempts to get his attention are a running gag—they fail constantly and hilariously. Fuyuki treats her formally ("Nishizawa-san") and doesn't seem to feel anything romantic, though he cares about her deeply as a friend.
Despite everything, Fuyuki does have limits. When he actually loses it—which takes a lot—he becomes genuinely terrifying to everyone around him, Keroro included.
