Real Name: Danzou Tobita
Jiraia's basically legendary—widely considered the most feared ninja around. He came up in the Oniwabanshu as their strongest fighter, and eventually founded the Hyakka (the Hundred Blooms organization) as its leader and chief. He also trained Tsukuyo, who became one of his most notable students.
He grew up in a rural area to Iga samurai parents and showed serious talent for ninjutsu early on. Rather than chase some noble path, he got stuck working under people he resented, which kind of defined his whole approach. He handled it by throwing himself into constant fighting—almost like he needed it to cope. That relentless, predatory fighting style is where his nickname "Jiraia the Spider" came from; fans and contemporaries noted how spider-like his instincts and techniques were in combat.
The name itself references Jiraiya, the ninja from classical Japanese folklore.
