Maruo Nakano is the stepfather of the Nakano Quintuplets. He's a successful doctor who runs a large hospital, and he married the girls' mother, Rena, some years before the story kicks off. While he's mostly absent from the daily chaos of raising five teenage daughters, his role as both patriarch and financial backbone of the family shapes a lot of what happens in the series.
