Chifuyu is the vice-captain of Toman's 1st division and one of Baji's closest friends. The two met at school under unexpected circumstances—Chifuyu was an ambitious delinquent trying to make a name for himself by taking down other thugs, and he'd heard that Baji was the real deal. When he finally tracked Baji down in his classroom, he found him dressed like a total nerd, hunched over a textbook and struggling to read. Turns out Baji was trying to improve his grades to stop worrying his mom, and Chifuyu ended up helping him with a word instead of picking a fight.
