Sanakan
A high-ranking Safeguard agent who initially appears as a short, young girl with black hair. She's got a personal vendetta against the Electro-Fishers, a human tribe, and there's clear history between her and Killy—though she knows way more about it than she lets on.
Sanakan operates in three distinct forms. Her child form is her "true" state, but Cibo steals her body and uses it for a decade. Her Safeguard form serves as her combat mode—a remote-controlled avatar linked directly to the Safeguard system rather than housing her actual consciousness. This form can be revived repeatedly and comes equipped with a GBE similar to Killy's, though bulkier. Finally, she has a third humanoid form that resembles her true self more closely, comparable to Killy's appearance.
The catch with her Safeguard form is that it's essentially a puppet. When Cibo hacks into the Safeguard network, the entire exterminator unit—including Sanakan's battle form—goes dormant. The real Sanakan, now devoted to protecting Cibo and her Net Terminal Genes, gets killed by silicon lifeforms. After her death, her superiors drop some heavy news: if she returns to reality in a Safeguard body and dies again, that's it. No more revivals.
By the story's end, Sanakan's goals align with Killy's. She actively helps him take down the Safeguard itself when it threatens to consume Cibo's core.
