Bruno Bucciarati enters the story as a member of the gang Passione, interrogating the protagonist Giorno Giovanna over a dead gang member. It doesn't take much for Giorno to convince him to flip—Bucciarati agrees to help orchestrate a coup against Passione's boss, Diavolo, and leads a group of defectors against him.
His backstory explains a lot. Growing up poor in a fishing village, Bruno admired his father's devotion to family above all else. When his father got pulled into the drug trade and ended up badly hurt, Bruno took matters into his own hands, killing the people who came after him. That's how he became a gangster. Even so, he never lost that family-first mentality; he's genuinely kind-hearted for a crime boss's lieutenant, and people regularly seek him out for help.
Sticky Fingers is Bruno's Stand, and it's deceptively versatile. By touching something—a wall, a person, himself—he can place a fully functional zipper on it. Unzip a wall and step through. Unzip an opponent and tear them apart. The ability works on anything, and he uses it both defensively and as a weapon, whether that means creating escape routes or literally disassembling enemies.
In combat, Bruno's got a signature move: while Sticky Fingers pummels an opponent senseless, he chants "Ari ari ari" rapid-fire with each punch, then caps it off with "Arrivederci"—Italian for goodbye.
