Marco is the de facto leader of the X-Laws—though he answers to Iron Maiden Jeanne. Sicilian by birth, he was orphaned young and raised in a Catholic church-orphanage by a priest. He's part of Team X-I alongside Jeanne and Lyserg Diethel.
He's fiercely devoted to Jeanne and her vision of a world purged of corruption and evil. Like her, he sees things in stark moral terms: join the X-Laws and you're good; refuse and you're evil, automatically aligned with Asakura Hao. There's no middle ground in his worldview.
Early on he came across as gentle, but that's misleading. As Luchist has pointed out, Marco lacks flexibility, and this rigidity makes him irritable over trivial things. When he gets wound up, his hair spikes out—kind of comically—and he'll snap his glasses in frustration. Hence why he keeps three spare pairs in his shoulder patch. The only thing that really settles him is Jeanne's presence, though he'll occasionally calm down for good chocolate and coffee.
He's a stickler for discipline to an almost absurd degree; he's been known to punch Lyserg for staying up late. During fights, he has a weird habit of handing out multiple death sentences. On a lighter note, he's genuinely passionate about cars and has actually started his own car dealership.
