Haruo
A pretty average-looking kid who doesn't stand out much in the classroom—his grades aren't great either. But put a controller in his hands and he's a different person entirely. He earned the nickname "Beastly Fingers Haruo" dominating arcade games around town, staying undefeated until he ran into Akira Oono. That loss stuck with him hard enough that he made it his mission to beat her, eventually turning her into his self-declared rival.
He's the type who started out as kind of an insufferable brat—cocky, arrogant, the whole package. Over time though, he mellowed out and grew up, at least personality-wise. His gaming obsession never really let up, but weirdly enough, that's what led him to find his best friends. His competitive drive and hours sunk into games basically shaped his whole social circle.
