Sagiri's been drawing since her mother taught her as a kid, and she was already working as Masamune's illustrator by age nine—though she had no idea they were actually partners, despite both their names being tied to the same pen name situation. Her mother's death hit her hard, and she pretty much stopped drawing and going outside altogether for a while.
What pulled her back into art was discovering live streaming. After watching someone draw on camera and get real-time reactions from viewers, something clicked. She started streaming her own artwork, but with a heavy disguise—altered voice, hidden face, the whole setup—specifically to keep people from figuring out who she was. Over time, she got more comfortable interacting with her audience while still keeping up the anonymity.
She became pretty isolated during this period. At one point, she was so determined not to leave her room that when Masamune got too swamped to cook, she just. went hungry rather than step outside. It gives you a sense of how much she was avoiding the world at that point.
