Juuzou Suzuya is a Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator best known for his distinctive androgynous look and unsettling presence. Originally named Rei Suzuya, he works as the partner of Yukinori Shinohara. His most striking features are the stitches running across his lips and body—part medical necessity, part personal style choice. He keeps his hair pinned up in a roman numeral 13 pattern and has large, intense pupils that give off an immediately eerie vibe.
In the field, Juuzou operates with childish enthusiasm and a careless streak. He's resourceful at his job and doesn't lose sleep over killing ghouls, though he shows little regard for much else, including other people's belongings. His reckless energy makes him effective despite his obvious lack of restraint.
By the time of Tokyo Ghoul:re, after the two-year gap, he's undergone a noticeable shift. His hair is now dyed black, and he's stepped up to lead his own squad. More surprisingly, he's actually matured—he's started to empathize with ghouls in ways he never did before, and he genuinely cares about his CCG teammates. His relationship with Sasaki Haise in particular seems to run deeper than his other connections.
