Tomoya's cousin—they were actually born in the same hospital. She's a second-year at Tsubaki Girls' Senior High School and comes across as pretty detached from most things, but music is a different story. Her band is basically the only thing that's ever really grabbed her attention; she's the type to drop interests easily, but this one stuck. Michiru's genuinely talented and versatile enough that people call her a genius, though her school grades are. not great.
When Tomoya needed help composing music for his project, she turned him down flat at first. But seeing how badly things were going, she reluctantly agreed to pitch in anyway. She's got a real thing against otakus and otaku culture—to the point where she's actively tried to get Tomoya to drop his hobby by throwing out his figurines and, well, offering herself as an alternative. It's her way of trying to save him from what she sees as a lost cause.
