Hermes is a Brough Superior motorcycle who's basically Kino's ride—literally and figuratively. He's fast enough to get them anywhere they want to go, and somehow manages to haul around all of Kino's luggage without complaining too much about the weight (though he complains about plenty else). Beyond speed and storage capacity, his main personality traits are constantly butchering quotes, whining, and falling for Kino's jokes every single time, which only gives him more reason to grumble.
His most iconic moment is probably just sighing "I'm bored." There's something endearingly naive about him—he's got this childlike quality that really stands out next to Kino's knowing, experienced demeanor. Despite all the complaining, he's genuinely loyal and reliable, making him solid company for the long haul.
In the Gakuen Kino spinoff, he shows up as a cell phone strap instead.
