Kaho Mizuki shows up in the series as the new substitute math teacher at Tomoeda Elementary, and she immediately wins over Sakura Kinomoto with her charm and warmth. Syaoran Li, though, isn't buying it—he's suspicious from day one and convinced she's hiding something.
She's a shrine maiden at Tsukimine Shrine and the daughter of the head priest there. Despite Syaoran's wariness, Kaho becomes genuinely close to Sakura, and there's something about her that makes Sakura feel like they have a real connection—though Syaoran would argue there's more going on beneath the surface than anyone realizes.
