Mako Mankanshoku
A second-year student known for being genuinely attached to Ryuko—like, unusually devoted. She's the type to throw herself at people as a greeting, full of chaotic energy that doesn't really have an off switch.
School rank determines your living situation at the academy, so Mako ended up in the cramped "slums" with her whole family: her mom, her dad (who runs an under-the-table medical practice), her delinquent younger brother, and their pug Guts. Money's tight.
She tends to get captured, used as leverage, or straight-up punished by other students pretty regularly—an easy target, really. But she doesn't seem to let it slow her down much. Her default mood is just. enthusiastic. Aggressively friendly. The kind of person who tackles people in greeting.
