Lance Corporal Dororo (formerly Zeroro) is the Keroro Platoon's assassin. He crash-landed on Pekopon and, true to form, got immediately forgotten by his platoonmates. A bear trap caught his leg soon after, and he would've died alone if ninja Koyuki Azumaya hadn't rescued him. Inspired by her way of life, he abandoned his old name and took "Dororo" from the forest where she found him, committing himself to the ninja path alongside her.
Being forgotten is kind of Dororo's thing—it happens so often that the rest of the platoon barely acknowledges him except for Koyuki. When the abandonment gets to him, his Trauma Switch flips. He'll radiate this purple, gloomy aura, retreat to a corner, and just cry. Usually something from his childhood with Keroro triggers it: being used as a human shield in snowball fights, for instance, which floods back memories of the same treatment during dodgeball games years ago.
What makes Dororo stand out is his genuine love for Pekopon and its creatures. He's said he's "fallen deeply in love" with the planet, which means he refuses to help with any scheme that could hurt people, damage nature, or endanger wildlife. He and Koyuki have basically vowed to protect the place together.
Gardening has always been his thing. As a kid he loved it, and he still does—he's got his own garden down in the platoon's underground base where he grows both native Pekopon plants and exotic alien species. For him, it's meditation. He also sits on lampposts and treetops to meditate and read, using quiet reflection to sharpen his body and mind.
Zeroro came from a wealthy family but never quite had presence. People wouldn't notice him even standing right next to them. Keroro and Giroro were his first real friends, and he'd do almost anything to keep them—even when Keroro constantly hurt his feelings, broke his stuff, stole from him, or took advantage of his kindness. Over the years, that meant a destroyed music box, stolen stamp collections, cake strawberries gone, books scribbled on, and worse. But Zeroro didn't hold grudges. He stayed sweet and kind, which is the complete opposite of Zoruru, his counterpart in the Garuru Platoon, who absolutely would've wanted revenge.
His natural invisibility—the same thing that made him so forgettable—became his superpower. Inspired (ironically) by Keroro himself, he weaponized that quiet presence and joined the Keronian Military as an assassin. He trained with an elite group including Zoruru under the leadership of Jirara before deploying to Pekopon.
Dororo speaks in archaic Japanese, ending sentences with "De Gozaru" instead of the modern "Desu," and refers to himself as "Sessha," an old samurai-style way of saying "I." Early on, he'd often communicate with the platoon through paper shurikens that acted as notes—they'd stick in Keroro's head, sending him into a panic until someone pulled them out. Dororo didn't need to be nearby to pull this off.
