Axl's stuck in time. Even after the last tournament wrapped up, he couldn't make it back to his own era—he just got pulled into another one instead. A year passes (though from his perspective, it's been three years), and he finds himself living through the same events all over again. Still, it wasn't a total wash. He picked up intel about someone else with time-traveling abilities—a guy he calls "That Man"—and figures this person might know how to get him home. Axl's caught That Man's scent before at previous tournaments, so he's heading out again to track him down.
