Kaoru is a ninja and member of the Shinobi 5, a mercenary group that takes on jobs for hire. She knows Zenzo well enough that she attended his father's funeral. By day, she juggles multiple part-time gigs—including work at a flower shop (where Kagura once crashed a scooter and destroyed a floral arrangement meant for Michiko, wife of her manager) and shifts at the Kunoichi Café alongside Ayame.
Despite her scattered resume, Kaoru has a split personality when it comes to work versus play. She and Ayame are both naturally playful and childish, prone to goofing off—like during the Ninja Battle in the Elizabeth Rescue arc, where they spent most of their supposed duel just staring each other down and trash talking. But the moment a real job is on the line, she switches gears and gets serious.
