Bonolenov is the 13th member of the Genei Ryoudan. He stands out immediately—wrapped in tattered bandages and looking like a walking mummy—but honestly didn't leave much of an impression during the York Shin arc. Things changed during the Chimera Ant invasion, where he fought alongside the rest of the troupe. In combat, he comes across as confident and mocking, though beyond that, very little is known about his actual personality or what drew him to the group in the first place.
Unlike most of his fellow members, Bonolenov comes from the Gyudondondo tribe rather than Ryuuseigai. The tribe's coming-of-age ritual is pretty intense: starting at age 3, boys have needles inserted into their bodies. Over time, the needles get progressively larger—eventually graduating to sticks—until permanent holes are carved into their skin. The Gyudondondo call themselves "dancing warriors," supposedly because the holes in their bodies create different sounds when they move. Bonolenov's bandages aren't just for show; they cover up the countless perforations across his entire body from this ritual.
