Burg
Burg is a first-class mage best known for his legendary defensive cloak—a piece so effective at warding off magical attacks that it earned him the nickname "the Indestructible Mantle." The thing basically never lets magic damage through, which is pretty much the dream for any mage trying to survive in combat.
He's spent time conducting exams for second-class mages, so he's clearly experienced enough to be trusted with evaluating younger talent in the field.
