Chinatsu's been a straight-A student and natural athlete since childhood. She and the quieter Suzuko have always been close—they used to hang out constantly, and Chinatsu admired how openly Suzuko expressed herself, something that stood out to her.
Life took a sharp turn when her father's company collapsed. The family went from living comfortably in a detached house in Ikebukuro to scraping by in an old apartment. Her dad eventually found work at another company, but money stayed tight. These days, Chinatsu covers her own tuition at a private prep school through a part-time job.
