Arystar Krory III is best known for his split personality—a stark contrast between his gentle, emotional side and his brutal "battle mode." The shift is unmistakable: in normal conversation he's soft-spoken and kind, but when fighting, his expression darkens, veins bulge across his face, his mismatched hair shoots straight up, and he looks genuinely monstrous.
Before becoming an Exorcist, Krory spent his entire life isolated in a castle, shunned by nearby villagers who were convinced he was a vampire. They had reason to suspect it—he'd attacked them repeatedly and fit every vampire stereotype imaginable. What nobody realized was that his teeth are made of Innocence, and those attacks were actually him instinctively hunting Akuma. Even Krory didn't understand what he was doing until Allen and Lavi showed up to recruit him. He also developed feelings for a woman named Eliade without knowing she was an Akuma herself. These days he's still adjusting to the outside world, and fans often note that Lavi enjoys mercilessly teasing him in combat, nicknaming him "Kro-chan" or "Krokins."
His Innocence resides in his teeth but draws power from his blood, granting him feral-type abilities. When activated, it gives him tremendous strength and the capacity to drink Akuma blood—which lets him regenerate and temporarily boost his power even further. He can also extract Akuma poison from victims before it takes hold, though he's not immune to the poison itself; his body simply breaks it down. His most devastating technique is called "Crimson," where he injects his own blood into Akuma to poison and kill them in seconds, though it exhausts him badly. He can also harden blood around his hands for reinforcement or detach it entirely, manifesting it as a winged blood construct called "Bloody Krory" that fights remotely—another technique that leaves him drained afterward.
