Rojuro Otoribashi, better known as Rose, was the 3rd Division captain before Kisuke Urahara took over—he held the position for about a year before that happened. He's known for his distinctly effeminate look: long, wavy blonde hair and an affinity for frilly clothing that made him stand out even among the captains.
Rose is clearly into music. He'll chat with Love about new releases and you'll catch him playing or messing with guitars whenever he gets the chance. Among his peer group, he comes across as one of the more level-headed and thoughtful guys, though he gets visibly annoyed if Love spoils manga for him. His zanpakutō reflects his aesthetic—the hilt is diamond-shaped with curved edges, and the sheath is studded with diamonds to match.
