Takezou runs the koto music club, though he's not exactly the bold, commanding type—he's actually pretty shy and tends to fold under pressure. Things hit rock bottom for him after he bombed an exam and fell into a real slump about it.
What turned things around was catching his senpai perform. She was pouring everything into her playing even though basically nobody was watching, and her instrument had a broken string, but she didn't let any of that stop her. Something about that performance just clicked for him—he realized how much heart mattered, and he signed up for the club right after.
When his senpai graduated, Takezou suddenly found himself as the only member. That's when he had to dig deep and figure out how to keep the whole thing from falling apart. He's still working on being strong enough to hold it together.
