Uran is Astro Boy's cybernetic sister across the manga and anime franchise. She's a superhuman android with a naive, tomboyish personality who's best known for being mischievous and getting her older brother into trouble.
1980 Series
Professor Ochanomizu built Uran as a gift for Astro, making her the third robot in their family after their parents. While she doesn't have Astro's weapons or flight systems, she's incredibly powerful—originally rated at 100,000 horsepower, though it was dropped to 50,000 after an incident where her body split into two identical copies. She regularly tags along on Astro's missions (or tries to), and despite being an android, she's fully capable of human emotion. That said, she's immature and loves being naughty and disobedient, which makes her equal parts endearing and annoying.
2003 Series
The 2003 reboot reintroduced her as Zoran with a redesigned look and more western-friendly outfit, though her core personality stayed the same. Here she's portrayed as more adventurous than mischievous, which usually backfires but has occasionally led to her saving people—like when she rescued a missing professor. She gained the ability to communicate with animals and befriended a bird she named Houdini. She's also shown to be jealous of Astro's powers, particularly his flight ability and his popularity. She first appeared in the episode "Little Sister, Big Trouble."
