One of the Comedian Three, this guy is basically the comic relief engine of the series. He's known for his absolutely warped take on Hijikata's whole "new page" thing—he's even joked that Hijikata picked him because of his skills in bed. Yeah, that kind of guy.
Toudou Heisuke is one of the Shinsengumi's old-timers, having been around since the group's early days back in Musashi. He shares the Hokushin-itto-ryuu sword style with Yamanami, though honestly you don't see him wielding it much in Kyoto. He's genuinely committed to the organization despite being more fixture than fighter—you're more likely to catch him teasing Tetsu or getting starry-eyed over Ayumu's cooking than actually patrolling anywhere.
