Ritsu's got this perpetually sleepy vibe—he sounds drowsy no matter what he's talking about. Pretty much nocturnal at this point, he'll crash and nap literally anywhere on campus. His attendance suffered because of it; he's repeated a year thanks to chronic tardiness and falling asleep during class. He genuinely doesn't seem bothered by any of it.
He's childhood friends with Mao Isara, a second year, and they're close enough that Mao basically looks after him despite being younger. His actual older brother is Rei Sakuma, a third year, but Ritsu has a standoffish attitude toward him—kind of blunt about it, even. In general, he's not one for getting tangled up with people and prefers keeping his distance.
