Hajime Kokonoi—or Koko, as he's known—was the 10th generation Black Dragon commander. His look is pretty distinctive: black deathhawk that flows wild on the right side while the left has geometric rectangles shaved into it, intense black eyes that seem to glare no matter his expression, and a taste for sharp, expensive-looking clothes that usually match his gold earrings.
Fundamentally, Koko sees everything through the lens of self-interest and profit. He's calculating to the point of coldness—he'll befriend anyone more powerful than him and drop them without hesitation once they stop being useful. It's easy to write him off as purely materialistic, but there's actually something darker underneath.
His obsession with money traces back to Akane Inui, a girl he cared about. When she suffered a severe injury, her family couldn't afford the operation. That's what set him down his path, desperately trying to figure out how a kid could get his hands on real money. He quickly realized the only option was crime, so he started hiring criminals to do his bidding. But somewhere along the way, the pursuit of wealth became the goal itself. He lost sight of why he'd started in the first place.
